  • BEliever Tip!

"I lightly mist my Flawless Application Face Brush with mineral water and then Swirl, Tap, Buff® as usual. My skin tends to the dry side and this method leaves a smooth, dewy look." — Michelle B.

Applying the Makeup is Easy

  • Swirl, Tap, Buff

  • 1. Swirl
a small amount of bareMinerals into the lid with the Flawless Application Brush (for lighter coverage) or the Full Coverage Kabuki Brush (for more coverage) until the bareMinerals are tucked into the bristles.

    2. Tap
off excess. bareMinerals should not be visible on the outside of the brush.

    3. Buff
bareMinerals onto the skin in a swirling, circular motion, starting on the outside of your face near your cheekbones. Then, buff around your face, working your way to the cheeks, forehead, and nose. Buff until you're satisfied with the coverage. Less is more when applying bareMinerals.

ORIGINAL SPF 15 Foundation - null 4.7 5 133 133
changed my opinion! i received the bare minerals original foundation in a 'get started' kit at Christmas. At first i wasn't sure as id always wore liquid foundation, trying a variety of brands over the years without much luck. Some didn't suit my skin type and seemed to disappear off my skin, others were just too heavy and caused skin breakouts and an unnatural finish. I decided to give this a try, just to see what it was like! the guide was excellent for someone who had never used powder foundations before. That day i received many compliments about how natural my make-up looked and how perfect it went on. Since then i have used it every day and only returned to my liquid foundation for one night out! my only issue is that it can be rubbed off quite easily if you or something is touching your face too much! would love this to come in a bigger tub. thank you bare minerals! 23/01/2016
Best foundation ever! I have been using Bare Minerals Original Foundation now for 5 years - very easy to use and great for a natural look, yet you can build it up for evening makeup. I have bought other foundations for a change but I always come back to BM! My skin is in great condition since using this product. 11/12/2015
Wish I had used it sooner! For years my mum has been telling me about bareMinerals that she has seen advertised on the TV. I always used liquid foundation as I felt it gave me a better coverage. I assumed that powdered would make my dry skin worse. However, using bareMinerals I have found my skin is smoother, hydrated and looks flawless without little make up. I assumed I would need a lot of product to achieve the coverage that I like, but I hardly use much foundation. People have commented on my skin appearing more natural looking. I would recommend it to anyone! It's even clearing up the spots on my skin. 29/10/2015
My favorite foundation <3 No matter what foundation I use, I always end up going back to the original by BM. It makes my skin look flawless with less product compared to other brands. Its also good for your skin. When I first tried it I noticed a difference in my skins appearance, and continue to see a difference. I like that it is build able, so I can super high coverage for evenings out or low coverage for work/everyday. Its lasts ages too. If you're between shades its easy to mix two together, to create your perfect shade. Handy for holidays! Perfect for every skin type. I used to have dry skin and it handled it very well, now I have normal skin with a slightly oily nose and I must say its also handles the oil well. Did I mention its perfect for humidity?! Take this on holiday with you its perfect for hot weather. I highly recommend putting complexion rescue on underneath too(because of its healthy qualities). They both work together so well together! Buy this, seriously you will wonder why you didnt buy it before. 23/10/2015
Less and less I have faithfully used the bare escentuals foundation for the last 10 years and find that the coverage is fantastic, however I have noticed that you get less and less of the product. Originally it was a 9g pot, then 8, and today I bought it and it is now a 6g pot!!!!! The price however rises every time the product shrinks!!! I love this product but will look for another alternative as do not think that it is value for money now, as getting stung both ways!!! Either put the price up accordingly or keep the price the same if you are going to put less product in the tubs. 17/10/2015
The best foundation ever This is the best foundation I have ever had; I had my make-up done at the BM counter in Debenhams Hull and chose the bare skin brightening foundation but that sunk into my pores after a few hours so changed free or charge no problem for the get started fairly light kit and I haven’t looked back! I use it with the prime time original or the BB in fair primers (both work well but I find the prime time works best with the matt and the BB gives more coverage and goes perfectly with the original). I suffer from rosacea and acne and that is being managed by my dermatologist but I’ve found less is more in terms of products used. I’ve used the original for the past 2 months and my redness and spots have dramatically reduced, my skin is flawless and the best it’s ever looked, I don’t make a habit of wearing make-up to bed but have done and wake up looking better than I did the day before lol I also find that it looks better as the day goes on so put on an hour or so before you go out and seal with the mineral veil as this really does prolong it. I have oily t-zone and used to have to touch up a few times through the day to combat shine, with this I don’t touch my skin at all and it looks great all day. My skins overall appearance is better since I’ve been using this. The only downside is the brush it comes with it goes on brilliantly with but the bristles have started to fall out, so I was going to get the big version but this doesn’t have great reviews either and at £25 is a lot of money. 22/08/2015
My favourite foundation I have been using BM original foundation for 2years now after having my full makeup done at the Brighton boutique & falling in love straight away. Ive not used any other brand of makeup since then. I was always prone to breakouts before using the orignal foundation but ive barely had any since using it. The thing i love the most about this product is the perfect amount of coverage it gives with only a small amount of product needed. It blends into the face very well. I always recommend original foundation to friends & family. 21/08/2015
Life saver! This foundation has honestly been one of the best foundations i have ever tried in my life, and I've tried quite a few! i have acne prone skin and i had never tried a mineral foundation before and mac foundations were breaking me out like crazy. so i heard about bare minerals and how their foundations improve you skin from a friend and decided to try it out, my money was so well spent! i use it with the prime time original primer and it leaves my skin so natural looking, luminous and glowy! i love that it has spf in it and i thankyou so much bare minerals! 02/08/2015
Not convinced I really wanted to love this product. For years I've used another high end brand of long lasting foundation and have always gone back to this as a trusted product. My skin has changed over the years and I started noticing that this foundation was doing for my skin what it had and started to look unnatural. I began the search for something else. After heavy research I settled on this foundation after reading the reviews on how 'natural' the product looked and how it didn't look as though you were wearing any make up. Unfortunately for me, that hasn't been the case. Firstly, the product is way too glittery for anyone to ever think you weren't wearing make up. It's really shimmery. Also, it sits in creases in the skin. I only have a few faint lines on my forehead but it collects in the lines making them really obvious. Also, if it's a warm day I find the make up clogging up - I really do use the tiniest amount as I don't want too full a coverage but it looks really cakey. The other thing #sorry!# is DO NOT get any water on your face. As soon as water hits the product it goes white and almost frothy - it's weird. The coverage is good though as you can build it up but, and I clearly am the minority according to the reviews, it's so obvious you have make up on. The last thing to say is that I couldn't use this product without purchasing the primer for £23. I had a sample sent with the foundation and as soon as that went #day 2# I tried to use the foundation without primer and I couldn't blend it in, it just clogged up and went cakey so I had to take it off, use some BB cream and go to the shops to buy a primer. Not a cheap hobby! I'm really disappointed as I really did want to love this product. I will be going back to liquid.... 24/07/2015
Amazing Foundation! Since i first bought this foundation i've found that i always come back to this. I have dry / senstive skin so suffer with redness which this fully covers. Although its powdery to start with in the container, once warmed up this is so light and covers the skin without leaving any powdery residue or look patchy. This with the Bareminerals Brightening Serum is the best thing i have discovered when it comes to foundations. I highley recommend! :) 22/06/2015

I was shade matched for the original foundation a couple of years ago and was a Medium Tan. The colour used to be perfect on me but I've notice in the last couple of months that my foundation has begun to look ashy. Have the shades changed or am I doing something wrong?

In my opinion you need the right brush, I tried with one and it did emphasize my wrinkles and flaky skin, but then I tried the precision face brush and it looks amazing. I would maybe go to a retailer and ask to try it so you can see though as im not sure one brush fits all!

I think as long as you exfoliate and moisturise your skin before applying make up it will look very natural and flattering on the skin.

Definitely not, in my opinion. I'm 64 and have dry skin, and find the BM foundation just wonderful. It might take a while to master the technique, buffing with a brush, but a store rep would be very pleased to demonstrate. If you haven't already done so, I'd say - go for it!

Absolutely, all our Foundations are suitable for all skin-types. If you are concerned about dry skin we would recommend moisturising and using our Prime Time Foundation Primer prior to applying our bareMinerals Foundation. This will help to smooth over any dry patches and give you perfect foundation application. Also our bareMinerals READY SPF 20 Foundation is great for those with dry skin as the formula is really hydrating. Hope this helps.

I'm also a student so I can easily tell you it lasts quite a while! I got my starter kit almost two years ago now and its just running out. Depending on how often you use it, it should still last you a long time. I bought the larger 'original' foundation for myself (with my student loan!) and I can guarantee that it will last a while.

We can't give you a guaranteed answer unfortunately as it all depends on how much you use, but on average we would advise a standard pot of our bareMinerals Foundation would last about 3-4 months.

It is very difficult to shade match online. If your skin tone is more yellow when tanned then we would recommend trying the shade Light. However if your skin goes a pink more of a pink tone when tanned then we would recommend trying out Fairly Medium. You could always check out our online Foundation Shade Finder to help you decide: http://bit.ly/12Njp5g

Dear Sir/Madam,
I bought the Golden deep N50 (compact foundation). This colour was perfect for me. Unfortunately I accidently dropped it all on the floor. I went in store to get a replacement and was given a colour that was too yellow in tone for my complexion - R510. Can you please tell me what this colour is now called ? And whether I need to get the cool or golden range.

If possible, I think it would help a lot of your customers if a chart of the original compact foundation colours and their correlating replacements were posted online. Thanks.

Our bareMinerals READY SPF20 Foundation in Golden Deep was renamed to shade R510. If you still find this too yellow for your complexion we would recommend trying out R530. It may be best to pop into one of counters for another shade match so you can be sure you’re getting the right shade for your skin tone. The shades for our bareMinerals READY SPF20 Foundation never changed, only the names of them did. On our bareMinerals READY SPF 20 Information Page we do have a comparison guide to help you out between Original SPF15 Foundation shades & bareMinerals READY SPF20 Foundation shades: http://bit.ly/19tLxTQ

It is really difficult to shade match online. Our READY SPF20 Foundation tends to be slightly lighter than our Original SPF15 Foundation, so even though R210 may be little too light, Medium in our Original Foundation may be the right shade. If you can, try to pop into your local bareMinerals Counter to get shade matched by one of our Beauty Ambassadors. If this isn't an option we would recommend trying our Medium if you have a slight pinky tone to your skin, and Medium Beige if you have a neutral skintone.

Hi,
I usually use medium tan during the summer months but if that comes up too dark for you mix a little of your medium beige and medium tan together to give you a more customized colour which you can tweak to your skin tone :)

It is really difficult to shade match online, as your skin-tone may slightly change when you have a tan. Your Medium Beige has neutral undertones, and if you feel that with a tan you still have neutral undertones, we would recommend trying the shade Tan. You can always pop into your local bareMinerals Counter to get shade matched by one of our Beauty Ambassadors.

It has not been scientifically proven that SPF in make-up affects the quality of your skin in photos at all - from my experience it seems to be an urban myth. Moreover, the SPF of Bare Minerals make-up is fairly low and, if working in tandem with a blush or bronzer, should not be an issue in photography. The fine texture of Bare Minerals foundation and it's luminous finish should make it for perfect wedding-day make-up :) Hope this helps!

I reccomed Liquid foundation on your wedding day, in pictures of myself in the makeup my flaws and bags can sometimes be braught out by the camera. Bare minerals is great for every day use- but for your wedding try a natural foundation and blush Goodluck!

Our Original and Matte Foundations used with Mineral Veil will give you a naturally flawless look on your wedding day. The SPF in the foundations should not have any negative effect on your wedding photographs. If you were looking for a longer-wearing, fuller coverage you could always try our READY SPF20 Foundation which launches nationwide in March.
