  • BEliever Tip!

"I lightly mist my Flawless Application Face Brush with mineral water and then Swirl, Tap, Buff® as usual. My skin tends to the dry side and this method leaves a smooth, dewy look." — Michelle B.

Applying the Makeup is Easy

  • Swirl, Tap, Buff

  • 1. Swirl
a small amount of bareMinerals into the lid with the Flawless Application Brush (for lighter coverage) or the Full Coverage Kabuki Brush (for more coverage) until the bareMinerals are tucked into the bristles.

    2. Tap
off excess. bareMinerals should not be visible on the outside of the brush.

    3. Buff
bareMinerals onto the skin in a swirling, circular motion, starting on the outside of your face near your cheekbones. Then, buff around your face, working your way to the cheeks, forehead, and nose. Buff until you're satisfied with the coverage. Less is more when applying bareMinerals.

ORIGINAL SPF 15 Foundation - null 4.7 5 271 271
Love it I had to have a friend help me learn how to best apply it, but after that I just loved it. She showed me how to put a little powder in the cap and then apply it to the brush with lots of circular motions in the cap to really get it evenly distributed on the brush for even distribution on the face. 15/03/2015
so sad I wanted to love this makeup - I had just recently gotten my skin super clear after changing my skincare regimen and I wanted to switch over to a makeup that was lighter while still offering adequate coverage. I will start off by saying that I have had pretty oily, problematic skin since about the 7th grade. I switched to this after having been using Tarte loose powder foundation because like I said, I wanted something a bit lighter. At first, I thought that it looked really nice but by the second day of using it, I noticed that I had many small breakouts around my chin and right cheek. As I mentioned earlier, my skin has been VERY clear lately and this product is the only thing that I had used that was different that I could link the recent breakouts to. I also noticed that it made my skin very oily after only an hour or so but that may just be because I have oily skin to begin with. Overall, I am very sad that this product did not work for me, because I have heard great things from other people. 13/03/2015
Perfection! This is the only foundation that I use! I have very sensitive skin and this does not bother it at all. I use the flawless face brush to get full coverage and it does not look caked on. Stays on 10-12 hours without the need for touchups. I love this foundation much more than any drugstore and highend product that I've tried! 11/03/2015
Did NOT help my skin. After changing many different lifestyle habits around to better my skin, my makeup was the ONE THING I had no changed. I thought the Neutrogena Skin Clearing liquid foundation was working well, except i still had some acne forming. I decided to INVEST about 100$ into this makeup to see better results, knowing the mineral makeup would be healthier for my skin. How disappointed I was in this makeup does not explain what I feel. I'm only 21 years old and so making a 100$ investment into makeup sounds crazy, but I was desperate to find the final solution to my skin problems. After a few weeks of use my skin had not cleared up at all, but instead CYSTIC acne had started to form. I sometimes get cystic acne but not to the extent that I got it after using this makeup. On top of that I felt the need to touch up the makeup throughout the day. I do not have sensitive skin so I do not know why this has happened. I would not buy it again and have since returned to my Neutrogena makeup which has cleared my skin. Since I spend the money, I'm willing to keep trying out the mineral makeup on days that I do not need heavy coverage and see how it fares. 09/03/2015
Nice makeup for beginners. Bareminerals is a nice makeup if you are just getting into the makeup game. It is natural which I like and it is easy to apply. I like the fact that they offer kits because that makes buying makeup more affordable. My only complaint is that I do find that I have to use concealer to cover any problem areas before applying the foundation, otherwise you can still see the imperfections thru the makeup. But other then that I do love bareminerals. 09/03/2015
One of the best luminous sheer to full coverage foundations! As a makeup artist I try many different types of foundation. I was skeptical about using this foundation until my friend gave me a makeover. I can proudly say that this BM original foundation has been my staple for 6 months! I can create the luminous full coverage look I desire without the worry of it melting off, or looking cakey. To perfect my makeup look I use the Prime Time original primer. I also visited a boutique to learn better techniques for the application. The right tools make all the difference. :0) I use the tapered face, and full coverage BM brushes to build the coverage I want, and the Flawless Radiance Brush to set my foundation using the pure radiance mineral veil. This foundation will leave a beautiful luminous finish that is perfect for anyone with combination or dry skin types. 04/03/2015
Best Foundation I've used a lot of different brands of makeup and I've never found anything like Bare Minerals! The foundation covers well and does not leave my skin feeling oily. I also have had problems with cystic acne and the purity of this makeup helps combat my breakouts! I'll never use a different foundation. 02/03/2015
Makes my skin appear very oily I have been using this product for about 2 months now. It makes my skin have a glowy effect and looks nice for about 2 hours but then after the 2 hours my skin looks very oily and the makeup rubs off easily. If there are any more bare minerals products that don't make my skin look so shiny, I would love to try it! 26/02/2015
Love this product... but it has its downsides Though I do wear this product daily, I only use it as a concealer for my nose, t-zone and my cheeks since those places are where I need the most coverage because of spots. I don't use it as a foundation because it can look a little cakey and it has too high a coverage in areas that I don't need much coverage. This foundation is supposed to be good for oily skin, but I find that by the end of a school day my nose and cheeks are shiny, but the make up itself doesn't rub off and reveal redness. Also, even though I had the foundation picked out to match my skin type by the make up artist working there, it looks very light on my skin and makes me look really pale, even though I have a slightly olive skin tone. I would buy this again and I have recommended it to friends with a normal skin type. 25/02/2015
Love it! I absolutely love the coverage. Totally exceeded my expectations. 21/02/2015

I think as long as you exfoliate and moisturise your skin before applying make up it will look very natural and flattering on the skin.

Definitely not, in my opinion. I'm 64 and have dry skin, and find the BM foundation just wonderful. It might take a while to master the technique, buffing with a brush, but a store rep would be very pleased to demonstrate. If you haven't already done so, I'd say - go for it!

Absolutely, all our Foundations are suitable for all skin-types. If you are concerned about dry skin we would recommend moisturising and using our Prime Time Foundation Primer prior to applying our bareMinerals Foundation. This will help to smooth over any dry patches and give you perfect foundation application. Also our bareMinerals READY SPF 20 Foundation is great for those with dry skin as the formula is really hydrating. Hope this helps.

I love this foundation and got brought the starter kit for Christmas but as I am a student with a low income I wondered how long the foundation has been lasting people as I wouldn't be able to go out and just buy it again when it's gone, I'd have to put some money away?

I'm also a student so I can easily tell you it lasts quite a while! I got my starter kit almost two years ago now and its just running out. Depending on how often you use it, it should still last you a long time. I bought the larger 'original' foundation for myself (with my student loan!) and I can guarantee that it will last a while.

We can't give you a guaranteed answer unfortunately as it all depends on how much you use, but on average we would advise a standard pot of our bareMinerals Foundation would last about 3-4 months.

It is very difficult to shade match online. If your skin tone is more yellow when tanned then we would recommend trying the shade Light. However if your skin goes a pink more of a pink tone when tanned then we would recommend trying out Fairly Medium. You could always check out our online Foundation Shade Finder to help you decide: http://bit.ly/12Njp5g

Dear Sir/Madam,
I bought the Golden deep N50 (compact foundation). This colour was perfect for me. Unfortunately I accidently dropped it all on the floor. I went in store to get a replacement and was given a colour that was too yellow in tone for my complexion - R510. Can you please tell me what this colour is now called ? And whether I need to get the cool or golden range.

If possible, I think it would help a lot of your customers if a chart of the original compact foundation colours and their correlating replacements were posted online. Thanks.

Our bareMinerals READY SPF20 Foundation in Golden Deep was renamed to shade R510. If you still find this too yellow for your complexion we would recommend trying out R530. It may be best to pop into one of counters for another shade match so you can be sure you’re getting the right shade for your skin tone. The shades for our bareMinerals READY SPF20 Foundation never changed, only the names of them did. On our bareMinerals READY SPF 20 Information Page we do have a comparison guide to help you out between Original SPF15 Foundation shades & bareMinerals READY SPF20 Foundation shades: http://bit.ly/19tLxTQ

It is really difficult to shade match online. Our READY SPF20 Foundation tends to be slightly lighter than our Original SPF15 Foundation, so even though R210 may be little too light, Medium in our Original Foundation may be the right shade. If you can, try to pop into your local bareMinerals Counter to get shade matched by one of our Beauty Ambassadors. If this isn't an option we would recommend trying our Medium if you have a slight pinky tone to your skin, and Medium Beige if you have a neutral skintone.

Hi,
I usually use medium tan during the summer months but if that comes up too dark for you mix a little of your medium beige and medium tan together to give you a more customized colour which you can tweak to your skin tone :)

It is really difficult to shade match online, as your skin-tone may slightly change when you have a tan. Your Medium Beige has neutral undertones, and if you feel that with a tan you still have neutral undertones, we would recommend trying the shade Tan. You can always pop into your local bareMinerals Counter to get shade matched by one of our Beauty Ambassadors.

It has not been scientifically proven that SPF in make-up affects the quality of your skin in photos at all - from my experience it seems to be an urban myth. Moreover, the SPF of Bare Minerals make-up is fairly low and, if working in tandem with a blush or bronzer, should not be an issue in photography. The fine texture of Bare Minerals foundation and it's luminous finish should make it for perfect wedding-day make-up :) Hope this helps!

Our Original and Matte Foundations used with Mineral Veil will give you a naturally flawless look on your wedding day. The SPF in the foundations should not have any negative effect on your wedding photographs. If you were looking for a longer-wearing, fuller coverage you could always try our READY SPF20 Foundation which launches nationwide in March.
