  • BEliever Tip!

"I lightly mist my Flawless Application Face Brush with mineral water and then Swirl, Tap, Buff® as usual. My skin tends to the dry side and this method leaves a smooth, dewy look." — Michelle B.

Applying the Makeup is Easy

  • Swirl, Tap, Buff

  • 1. Swirl
a small amount of bareMinerals into the lid with the Flawless Application Brush (for lighter coverage) or the Full Coverage Kabuki Brush (for more coverage) until the bareMinerals are tucked into the bristles.

    2. Tap
off excess. bareMinerals should not be visible on the outside of the brush.

    3. Buff
bareMinerals onto the skin in a swirling, circular motion, starting on the outside of your face near your cheekbones. Then, buff around your face, working your way to the cheeks, forehead, and nose. Buff until you're satisfied with the coverage. Less is more when applying bareMinerals.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Be wary I originally thought this product was amazing. However, after a few weeks of wearing it regularly my skin started getting very bad - large painful cyst like spots in places that i never had spots before. Which meant I used the product more. It then twigged. The foundation was causing this reaction. As soon as I stopped using it my skin showed an improvement. However, it has taken 6 long and embarrassing months for my skin to get back to normal. Note- I have never had an allergic reaction to any product before. I don't have have sensitive skin. Be very wary of using this product. And stop using it immediately if you notice any changes to your skin. 21/01/2017
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best foundation ever! I have sensitive, combination skin with mild rosacea and I've tried all sorts of liquid foundations which never worked. This doesn't irritate my skin, works wonders at hiding the redness and lasts ages (unlike classic liquid make up I had to reapply mid day). I use it with the Multi Tasking Concealer and my skin has never looked so good. Thank you Bare Minerals!! 17/01/2017
Rated 1 out of 5 by Posting for 13 Year Old Heartbroken Girl I will say that Bare Minerals has always been my first choice since it has come out, I purchased a starter kit for oldest, who is now 24, years ago and she continues to use Bare Minerals. So I could not wait to get this for my teen daughter as a major gift for Christmas. We got this, the mineral veil, serum concealer, kabuki brush, Good Clean Fun and the Countdown to Gorgeous. So you can imagine how excited she was, So after Christmas she started wearing all her Bare Minerals and was happy but she kept itching on her face and her eyes were dry all the time. Come to find out she is allergic to every product that she received as a gift for Christmas and in the Advent calendar. This product is great but be aware of allergic reactions, my daughter was in misery for a few days after using it. 13/01/2017
Rated 5 out of 5 by Favourite foundation I use the shade medium beige and it just makes my skin look flawless and natural. The best brush is definitely the beautiful finish brush as it is so soft and you can build the coverage up from sheer to full. I also think the foundation is good value, as it will last a very long time. 31/12/2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by My new number 1 I love the look of glowing, fresh and natural looking skin - and this foundation gives me just that. It has buildable coverage, so if you want that flawless full coverage look it's definitely achievable but NEVER looks cakey. The glow it gives is gorgeous. Perfect! 28/12/2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Best Foundation I love, love, love Bare Minerals... Have used nothing but Bare Minerals for close to 20 years ... My only complaint is the colors... Every product has completely different shades to choose from which means having to get color matched or trial and error to find the right shade. I was using the solid foundation and thrilled with the shade, application, all of it.. Then they come out with a new solid foundation, Bare Pro... BUT with all new shades so once again I had to find the right shade. So now I am using Pecan... Love it.. But wanted to have the original foundation on hand as well. WHY is there not a color called Pecan in the original foundation... OR if not the same shade color... Then... a chart that says if you use Bare Pro in Pecan, use ??? in the original foundation. Still love Bare Minerals.. 27/12/2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Wonderful mineral foundation I use Bare Minerals Original foundation & hydrating Mineral Veil on top of my Complexion Rescue for extra moisture. It leaves my skin looking dewy, not gray nor cakey and doesn't accentuate any facial lines. And it looks great alone too. 21/12/2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by Meh. I got this in the getting started kit. This did not look natural on me. It was too shiny and powdery looking. The matte foundation is much better. 20/12/2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Original Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 15 I love how it is on my skin. It's like wearing nothing at all. Then I like to finish with Mineral Veil. Beforehand I put on a primer that I have got from another company. That alone makes my skin feel soft and smooth. I have yet to try from Bareminerals. But I would like to try. But I have one question, When I bought the mineral veil it had a shimmer to it. This last time it didn't, can you tell me why? I purchased the original mineral veil. Thank You Also I really wish you could come down on the price as I am poor. 15/12/2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best around! Goes on great, looks wonderful. Skin has never looked better! 15/12/2016

I use foundation to cover the bags at the moment , but because I have to put a lot, it tends to "crinkle" and make me look old - am i not moisturizing enough or what should i use? and i apply it with the small brush (full coverage).

Answer:
I think the best thing to use would be the spf20 powder concealer (bisque shades) with a concealer brush as it doesn't crinkle, because you don't need to use as much as it has full coverage. Then use the foundation on the other areas of the face. Hope this helps

Answer:
Me and my mother both use the powder concealer to cover bags. Works like a treat and you shouldn't have to use as much, but if you still have issues, have a go with the Mineral Veil over the top. With the 'crinkle'ing, Often just lightly rubbing with your fingertips flattens it out of creases, but otherwise, just work the makeup around with a brush. I use a small blending brush or an eyeshadow brush for right in the eye.

I'm currently using Stroke of Light™ Eye Brightener (out of stock at the time of this review, sorry). It has tiny bits of glitter in it (and I do mean tiny) that also lightens the area as well as conceals it.

I was shade matched for the original foundation a couple of years ago and was a Medium Tan. The colour used to be perfect on me but I've notice in the last couple of months that my foundation has begun to look ashy. Have the shades changed or am I doing something wrong?

Answer:
Sometimes your skin tone may change due to climate, or just general raging. My skin was always very pink undertones, but now I am very yellow. If your shade is looking to ashy, try and see if you could be matched again, or maybe choose a foundation shade that is slightly more warmed toned.

Powders last for a long time, since it's dried and in a airtight container when not in use. I feel like two years might be pushing it a bit though as every time you open and use it the powder will stick to itself that little bit more.

You can keep it until its used! I have had mine for several years, and depends on how my skin is behaving (acne) depends how often, or which bare minerals foundation I use. If you are worried about using to much foundation, or it running out too quickly, then try the READY foundation, as it is in the compact so you get less fall out from the packaging.

My mum tried bare minerals and she was 42 at the time and she felt it sat upon her skin and aged her however I think it is a personal choice! If you go into a bare minerals store they will be able to try the foundation on your face and you can test it for yourself!

In my opinion you need the right brush, I tried with one and it did emphasize my wrinkles and flaky skin, but then I tried the precision face brush and it looks amazing. I would maybe go to a retailer and ask to try it so you can see though as im not sure one brush fits all!

Definitely not, in my opinion. I'm 64 and have dry skin, and find the BM foundation just wonderful. It might take a while to master the technique, buffing with a brush, but a store rep would be very pleased to demonstrate. If you haven't already done so, I'd say - go for it!

Answer:
Absolutely, all our Foundations are suitable for all skin-types. If you are concerned about dry skin we would recommend moisturising and using our Prime Time Foundation Primer prior to applying our bareMinerals Foundation. This will help to smooth over any dry patches and give you perfect foundation application. Also our bareMinerals READY SPF 20 Foundation is great for those with dry skin as the formula is really hydrating. Hope this helps.

I love this foundation and got brought the starter kit for Christmas but as I am a student with a low income I wondered how long the foundation has been lasting people as I wouldn't be able to go out and just buy it again when it's gone, I'd have to put some money away?

Answer:
I was also introduced to bare minerals through the starter kit and the actual foundation in the starter kit is much smaller than what the foundation would be if you bought it in store. If buying the foundation itself and not in a kit, it lasts me so much more around 6 months! I bought one end of June and by end of December i had to buy a new one.

I'm also a student so I can easily tell you it lasts quite a while! I got my starter kit almost two years ago now and its just running out. Depending on how often you use it, it should still last you a long time. I bought the larger 'original' foundation for myself (with my student loan!) and I can guarantee that it will last a while.

We can't give you a guaranteed answer unfortunately as it all depends on how much you use, but on average we would advise a standard pot of our bareMinerals Foundation would last about 3-4 months.

I've been using Fairy Light too, but when I came back from holiday I moved to just Light as my skin keeps its tint (slightly olive-coloured) once it tans but this might be different for you. If you go a little red once you've tanned you might want to try fairy medium.

Answer:
It is very difficult to shade match online. If your skin tone is more yellow when tanned then we would recommend trying the shade Light. However if your skin goes a pink more of a pink tone when tanned then we would recommend trying out Fairly Medium. You could always check out our online Foundation Shade Finder to help you decide: http://bit.ly/12Njp5g

Dear Sir/Madam,
I bought the Golden deep N50 (compact foundation). This colour was perfect for me. Unfortunately I accidently dropped it all on the floor. I went in store to get a replacement and was given a colour that was too yellow in tone for my complexion - R510. Can you please tell me what this colour is now called ? And whether I need to get the cool or golden range.

If possible, I think it would help a lot of your customers if a chart of the original compact foundation colours and their correlating replacements were posted online. Thanks.

Answer:
Our bareMinerals READY SPF20 Foundation in Golden Deep was renamed to shade R510. If you still find this too yellow for your complexion we would recommend trying out R530. It may be best to pop into one of counters for another shade match so you can be sure you’re getting the right shade for your skin tone. The shades for our bareMinerals READY SPF20 Foundation never changed, only the names of them did. On our bareMinerals READY SPF 20 Information Page we do have a comparison guide to help you out between Original SPF15 Foundation shades & bareMinerals READY SPF20 Foundation shades: http://bit.ly/19tLxTQ

Answer:
It is really difficult to shade match online. Our READY SPF20 Foundation tends to be slightly lighter than our Original SPF15 Foundation, so even though R210 may be little too light, Medium in our Original Foundation may be the right shade. If you can, try to pop into your local bareMinerals Counter to get shade matched by one of our Beauty Ambassadors. If this isn't an option we would recommend trying our Medium if you have a slight pinky tone to your skin, and Medium Beige if you have a neutral skintone.
