bareSkin Pure Brightening Serum Foundation SPF20 - null
In Love... until...
I was beyond excited when I saw this new product back at Christmas last year - finally a fluid foundation from a highly reputed makeup company, form whom I have enjoyed countless amounts of their products. The fact that it is build-able was very appealing to me - I use this as my 'special occasion' foundation; the brush is also very good! However, more recently, I have become disappointed - not with the foundation itself, but with the packaging... I always shake the bottle, as instructed, and if you are familiar with the product, you know there is a ball bearing inside to help mix it up. Proceeding this, I go to pop a few drops on my brush and find that no product comes out, despite how hard I squeeze the bottle. As I only use this foundation occasionally, you can imagine how much product I still have in the bottle; probably well over half, so it is very frustrating that none comes out! I have a feeling that it is the ball-bearing that ends up blocking the nozzle - I try tipping the product to a different angel to move it, but still no avail... I am so sad that this has happened - not sure if I am an anomaly or whether others have experienced it too, but disappointing that the packaging has let the product down and I can no longer use it :(
A daily staple!
I love this product!
I use this daily alongside Bareminerals Original Foundation and the two work perfectly together.
The texture is soft and it blends amazing (with fingers or a brush). The coverage is light and (even though i have redness it covers this) giving a suble glow.
I recently purchased the Complextion Rescue Tinted Cream which has been a disappointment and will stick with the Brightening Serum going forward.
Irritated My Skin
I have sensitive skin and have never had problems with Bare Minerals original foundation. I decided to switch and give this a try and it irritated my face so badly! My face started burning and then tiny bumps started popping up. My entire face is bright read and HURTS it looks like I had a chemical peel!
So far one of the best I've tried
I went to the Bare Minerals counter in Debenhams Hull and was looked after by a lovely lady called Becky she was so helpful and knew what she was talking abut., My skin is red and sensitive and I suffer from Rosacea so I need something that will cover redness and spots whilst still being sensitive.
She tried the original SPF 15 mineral foundation, the completion rescue, and the Bare mineral pure brightening serum foundation. Before she tried the foundation she used the prime time BB primer in light to prime my skin. This is something I’ve not used but now wouldn’t be without.
All were lovely, and offered different things; the Original SPF 15 mineral foundation covered well and left a matt finish the same I would expect if you used a powder under a foundation.
The completion rescue and the Bare mineral pure brightening serum foundation had very similar dewy finishes, but I loved the buildable coverage of the brightening serum foundation finished with the mineral veil gave me everything I needed. 8 hours later and I still look fresh and dewy which is amazing as normally I’m bright red and sweaty looking.
Worse high end foundation
I bought this foundation in a rush the one I planned to purchase didn't have my shade I went to bm counter and the lady matched me perfectly I was impressed by the shade range but unfortunately it doesn't make up for the bad quality of this product it looks cakey after an hour it would slide down my face especially under my eyes and on the T zone even after set with Ben nye powder and set with Mac fix + ! My skin is combination and it is the worse thing I have ever spent my money on.Everyone don't waste your money! Will definitely go back to my nars foundation. Not worth a penny
I wanted to love this product
I tried this product for the first time today. The liquid is messy and coverage on your face is spotty. I've heard the good reviews and decided to try the product but it didn't work for me the first time. When I purchased the bottle I didn't buy the special brush that is supposed to be used so I just applied it with my fingers. Maybe if I had the brush it would have been better and easier to use.
I really wanted to like this...
I've been using bare minerals original foundation for the last decade and love it. I was really excited and intrigued when they launched bare skin because I've never used a liquid foundation but have always been curious. I ordered the starter kit that included the brush so many rave about. I was so excited when this arrived and immediately tried it out. Having not used a liquid before, I tried hard not to get discouraged when I hated the application the first time and optimistically said I'd try it again the next day when I had more time to play with it. After about 8 separate attempts to make this work, with primer, with cc cream, with nothing underneath, with and without mineral veil, and every single time I thought "there's no way I can actually wear this in public, I just feel weird with it on my face". The shade match was fine. It just feels strange and it's difficult to obtain decent coverage. The brush is a bust and I don't understand how people like it. It's just a total fail all the way around for me. I was highly disappointed.
I love this product.
When I first tried this product, I was surprised at how light it was on my skin. I can barely feel it. The really nice thing is that it covers blemishes (it's buildable!) and it has NO preservatives. I used to get such bad breakouts from face makeup, but not anymore!
The Worst Product BM has ever made
I have been using BM original foundation for years. And Glee and Mineral Veil. But Bare Skin is awful. I went to a Boutique to have it put on me. The coverage was way too heavy. You could see every line on my face. It never soaked in at all. It just sat there. I could wipe a finger across my cheek long after it was applied and it would wipe off like a lotion just put on. The boutique worker agreed it was way too much coverage for me. She even admitted that it was the most returned product they sell.
Start out with a kit, you need the brush!
I received a sample and thought what a mess! Why would I change from the powder mineral I have worn for at least 15 years.
Well they had a kit with the 28.00 dollar brush so I tried it one more time! I love it it is great. I use wrinkle repair, moisturizer, liquid foundation a splash of bronzer and a lite cover of veil. The moxie lip color and some mascara. Sounds like a lot but literally 4 minutes and I am out the door! You need the brush. I shake the bottle remove the lid and use 1 drop, tap it lightly all over my face and smooth it with the brush the more the better when buffing.
