Q & A

Rated 4 out of 5 by 837 reviewers.
Rated 3 out of 5 by Very blendable but minimal coverage *SHAKE HEAVILY BEFORE USE!* The first time I used this foundation I was very confused, it was like pure grease coming out and not putting any colour on my face - after watching youtube tutorials I realised it was because I hadn't shaken it, so it needs heavily shaking before use! Once shaken, still wasn't quite as I desired. Coverage is incredibly minimal - they say 2 drops covers your whole face...completely disagree, I use about 10 at least and my makeup is still minimalistic! Once on the face, it spreads really nicely, really blendable, but not for those who want heavy coverage. Once done, it NEEDS a setting powder. Ideally a mattifying primer beforehand too. Very shiny once done, but a finishing powder does make the foundation look lovely. It does look really nice and dewy/glowy once done, but becomes quite shiny througout the day, so needs top-ups of powder or blotting paper. I also purchased the brush specially designed for this foundation, but found it was awful and just soaked up the liquid, so I've reverted to using a different rounded foundation brush. Waste of £24 in my opinion! 21/08/2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice foundation! This is a really nice foundation... I love the way it just glides on. It gives great coverage too. I would have given it a 5 star review if it came in a bottle that didn't leak. For some reason the product backs out of the bottle and makes a mess in the lid. Other than this, I really like it. 08/08/2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Skin Brightening Foundation By far, this is some of the best foundation I've ever used and having been a makeup artist for years, I've used numerous foundations. I get many compliments on my skin when wearing this. People who don't know me think I'm in my early 30's (48) and many have said my skin looks like a baby's skin (both men & women). I owe it mostly to this foundation. In the summer I wear Bare Buff and the winter, Bare Cream and transition with Bare Satin. It really does provide the skin with a flawless effect when wearing. Ok, all this being said, the bottle is totally lacking in dispensation of the product. With all the bottles, I must constantly insert a needle into the opening, even though there is plenty of product left in the bottle. Store personnel have told me about the tiny bead and yes, I've gotten past that too and it's not the problem. When I insert the needle, a lot of product shoots out. With this foundation, only a minute amount is needed for full coverage, which is awesome but, with the packaging it's almost impossible to get the needed amount without overdoing it. I LOVE the foundation but, until there is better packaging, I'll wait before I make another purchase. 07/08/2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best foundation I have ever had. This product is the best foundation I have ever used. I personally like to keep the all natural look and this product does that for me. I use it before applying a little of the powder foundation for extra coverage but with it alone is great coverage depending on the drops used. I used to get a lot of acne due to the other foundations I bought but the bareSkin is the only one that has not irritated my skin. I will most certainly continue buying it. 02/08/2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by Great Product, horrible packaging I really loved this product. As someone always scared of liquid foundation, this product changed my mind. My main gripe and the reason I will not purchase this product again is the packaging. I've probably lost a third of the product due to the poor bottle design. I also cannot travel with it as it is such a mess. I've switched my foundations to a completely different brand but will come back to this if the bottle ever gets fixed. 02/08/2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Cruelty free foundation I have been trying to find a foundation thats cruelty free but still has a good coverage for ages and I've finally found one! 01/08/2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Fantastic Foundation- Pathetically Poor Packaging I have terminally dehydrated, rosacea prone skin with the largest t-zone craters this side of the moon - it's a problem. I recently overhauled my make up, replacing all of my Bobbi Brown products with Bare Minerals, as BB foundation, while a great colour match, felt uncomfortable, and within an hour of so of application, my skin flared up, and very fetching red patches poked through the coverage - and so a lovely bout of rosacea was set off. I'm so glad I tried BareSkin. This foundation is INCREDIBLE! It wears extremely comfortably, matches my skin tone perfectly, and doesn't aggravate my skin or cause any redness - which is miraculous in itself. I can honestly say, I will never need to try another foundation again. HOWEVER, the bottle is possibly the worst designed foundation bottle in the history of the world - no joke. It spews out too much product like a baby positing on your shoulder. I've tried everything - trying to contain the eruption with a cotton bud, leaving the bottle in the fridge for a while so the formula would not be so runny, shoving the cap on immediately - nothing works and the faulty design causes me to waste SO much product. It's such a shame - and it's the reason I gave four stars. I've decanted some of the product into a Muji pump bottle - which I shouldn't have needed to do. Bare Minerals - please sort out your packaging designer - they're not doing a good job, and it's not fair on your chemists, who have done such a wonderful job with the formulation - and also your customers- people will vote with their pennies. I've seen some negative reviews for the formula itself - and while I'm completely evangelical about this product, I put some on my sister, and it did not work on her at all. Do try in store, if you can. So, all in all, amazing foundation (please never discontinue this), appalling packaging. 24/07/2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by great coverage I like to use this foundation for special occasions, it gives good coverage and 1 drop goes a long way. It does need finishing powder though to tone it down. 22/07/2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great everyday foundation This foundation is great! It provides ample coverage for daily wear, without feeling heavy or thick on my face. It looks natural too which I love. 21/07/2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by interesting i have dry fair skin and purchased this in bare porcelain (the lightest shade), I have very mixed feeling about this product, this foundation is a serum based foundation that requires shaking upon use to mix the product together however upon opening the lid after the recommended shaking the liquid oozes out of the bottle causing wastage and mess. Bare porcelain is a bit too yellow for my fair skin and clings too any dry patches when used with the recommended brush, however when applying with fingers does not seem to cake and looks natural and for some reason does not seem to be as yellow. Also this foundation has quite an off putting smell that lingers on face. 20/07/2016

Hi

We do have Brightening Serum foundation samples available, however these are in selected shades so we couldn't guarantee to get you a match through a sample unfortunately. Please feel free to contact our Customer Service team at customerservice@bareminerals.co.uk to see if they could assist or alternatively visit one of our counters to have a complete colour match undertaken and to see if they a sample in your matched shade available.

Many Thanks

I have sampled the bareskin foundation and I love it. I would like to use a daily moisturiser under my foundation but I do not want to overload my skin. Do you think I should use moisturiser under this product?

Answer:
Hi Sue
Personally I think fingertips are best, it goes on smoothly and you get less waste than if you used the brush, also I get better coverage, it's just like applying moisturiser you can get into all the "difficult" bits! Hope this helps...

Answer:
You can buy bareMinerals in Sephora, or there is also a french website for these products. Just type in bareMinerals and when the website comes up, go the currency symbol to the top right and go to the 'France' site. Enjoy.
