    The matte foundation only seems to be matte on me (relatively, compared to the original) right after application. Doesn’t do anything for oil control. That’s not the biggest problem though. The same shade name and number look completely different in original and matte foundations. Do with that what you will.

    Pictured are 5-Fairly medium. Matte foundation is way darker.

    We completely understand your frustration about the shade matching, especially when you're expecting the same shade name and number to provide consistent results across different formulations. Your observation about the Fairly Medium shade appearing darker in the Matte version compared to the Original is accurate. The Matte shades do run about half a shade deeper than Original but have similar undertones.

    I’ve used bare minerals for as long as they’ve been on the market. It’s my go to for all aspects of my getting myself together in the morning. I’m turning 70 next week.

    Best makeup ever!

    I've had over 30 years of experiencing different types of makeup, foundation, powder, etc (I'm 53). I've tried all types of makeup, but it always breaks me out. Always. This is the only one that does not! I've fell asleep with this on, and not only does it look GREAT the next day, not once have I gotten a pimple or rash over it. Never. I love that I can use it as a light filter, or full coverage. It never looks or feels cakey. It also hides my old lady age spots. Absolutely love bareMinerals Original Matte powder. I will continue using only this on my face.

    Absolutely Obssessed!!!

    Soooo...here's the thing, I don't usually fall head over heels for foundation, but this one, this is the holy grail I didn't even realize I had been searching for my whole life. BareMinerals Original Matte Loose Powder Foundation is magic in a container.

    The coverage is *flawless* without ever feeling heavy. It also manages to blur, smooth, AND mattify all at once. It absolutely makes my skin look incredible. I also *LOVE* that this foundation is clean, breathable mineral makeup with 15 SPF...that's a win for my face and my conscience.

    It's also incredibly light weight, I often even forget I am wearing foundation. I've never dealt with cakiness, no settling into fine lines, and it keeps my skin free of shine and oil throughout the day.

    I cannot go back to wearing any other foundation after using bareMinerals, it looks natural, feels weightless, and improves my skin while wearing it. This is my one and only!
